Step Up Savannah’s Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP) is proud to be a part of the Georgia SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) Program, known as SNAP Works. If you’re a SNAP recipient looking to enhance your employment opportunities, SNAP Works could be the perfect fit for you.
About SNAP Works
- SNAP Works is a voluntary program for most SNAP recipients.
- This Employment & Training program provides SNAP recipients with opportunities to gain skills, training, and/or experience that will improve their ability to attain employment.
- SNAP Works participants include able-bodied adults, single parents, families, refugees, senior citizens, and some individuals with disabilities
Program Activities
Georgia’s SNAP Works Program offers supervised job search, job skills training, GED, vocational training for specific jobs, and work experience (a short-term unpaid work assignment) through partnerships with community-based organizations and educational institutions.
Support Services
SNAP Works participants may receive work support services which may include transportation, childcare, and other services. These funds are available for necessities required for participation in an approved and assigned educational or training activity.
