Does Step Up Savannah provide rental assistance?
No, Step Up Savannah does not provide rental or emergency financial assistance.

Does Step Up Savannah offer re-entry services or legal assistance?
We do not directly provide re-entry or legal services, including court advocacy or expungement support for the general public. However, participants in our Chatham Apprentice Program may be connected to partner resources.

💼 Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP)
What is the Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP)?
The Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP) is a workforce development program designed to help participants build job skills, prepare for employment, and connect to career pathways through apprenticeship opportunities.
How long is the CAP program?
CAP is a 16-day program that runs over 4 weeks and 4 days.
- What does the CAP program include?
Participants receive: - Job readiness and workforce training
- Support with completing job applications
- Career pathway guidance
- Connections to supportive services
What supportive services are available through CAP?
CAP participants may be connected to resources such as:
- Childcare assistance
- Gas cards
- Expungement resources (through partners)
These supports are available to CAP participants only.
Will I receive hands-on training for my selected career (like CDL or Medical Billing)?
No. During CAP, you will not receive hands-on credential training.
After successfully graduating, you will receive separate instructions via email for next steps related to your selected training or certification program.
Do I have to be unemployed to join CAP?
No. You may join CAP if you are:

Are there requirements during the program?
Yes. Participants are expected to complete at least 25 job applications during the program.
What happens after I complete CAP?
After successfully graduating:

You will receive next steps for your selected career pathway or training

You may become eligible for an incentive
Can I participate in CAP more than once?
No. You may only participate in the CAP program one time.
What is the incentive and how do I receive it?
CAP participants may be eligible for an incentive after completing the program and meeting requirements.
You have up to one year to claim your incentive.
What if I don’t claim my incentive within one year?
If your incentive is not claimed within one year, please contact:
