Resident Feedback

Step Up has developed an approach based on local level participation and strengthening of self-help efforts. Our experience has shown with the mobilisation of self-help efforts remarkable results can be achieved, and that ownership is one of the key elements required for sustainability in development work.?

The Resident Team serves as a community group in which residents voice their concerns, opinions and ideas about barriers to self-sufficiency and how Step Up addresses those barriers.

Residents may also participate on a Step Up action team (Transportation, Healthcare, Dependent Care, Asset Building, Education/Workforce Development, and Affordable Housing). All Residents, especially those knowledgeable about the everyday trials of living in poverty, are critical to Step Up?s success.

Become a member of the Resident Team

Step Up is asking residents who are willing to be leaders to become involved. When residents work together as a diverse team, they have the potential to be more powerful than a single individual. Step Up focuses on system changes and program development which will reduce barriers to self-sufficiency. Will you step up?
